We are a family run Mongolian Registered Tour Company, offering cultural tours and adventure experiences across Mongolia. We are adventure enthusiasts ourselves, with a passion for exploring and having fun in the great outdoors. We shaped Expat Travel together to provide professionally run and authentic Mongolia tours to visitors as well as Expats who live here and want to have an authentic, not touristy experience.
Bold is the driving force of the operation! A true adventurer, Bold will always find a way. From starting a local dog sledding team, to forming and taking a National paragliding team to International Competitions, he is always up for a challenge.
Bold is the CEO of our company and often takes on the role of expedition leader or guide.
Don't be surprised if Bold is the person who collects you from the airport, he likes to greet our visitors personally.
Anna spends most of her time in the office, but her real passion is the great outdoors. Any chance she can get she is out leading a tour, climbing a mountain or kayaking on the river. With experience as a film fixer, operations manager and tour designer, Anna is the brains behind the tours and experiences. She knows the best places to see, and can draw you up a dream itinerary to explore Mongolia.
Originally from the UK, Anna moved to Mongolia in 2011 and has never looked back.
It's a family thing...
In 2016 Expat Mongolia was founded by Bold as a way to bring more professionalism to the hospitality and tourism industry in Mongolia. Dissatisfied with what was available for expats living in Mongolia and visitors to the country, lack of good services and poor communication, Bold took things into his own hands.
At the end of 2016, Bold's wife Anna joined the team, making the company a truly family affair.
Since then the company has grown from providing a luxury transportation service and Expat services, to providing top quality cultural tours and adventure experiences across Mongolia.
If you join an experience with Expat, you are sure to meet Bold and Anna, along with their young son.
The important stuff: Projects we support
We actively participate in tree planting projects in the areas we visit in Mongolia. Mongolia suffers from devastating desertification and in recent years extremely harsh weather has increased the strain on the environment.
In October 2020, Expat Travel and our partner Paragliding.mn planted 500 trees in Tov Province.
Cleaning our country & litter picking
Expat Mongolia has organised and assisted in various projects to clean up the rubbish and trash that is a growing problem in Mongolia's once nomadic culture.
Dental Treatment for remote children
Expat Mongolia supports Misheel Kids Foundation, a Mongolian NGO that provides disadvantaged children across Mongolia with much needed dental and oral education and treatment. In 2018 and 2019 we helped to send a mobile dental team to the Tsaatan Reindeer Herder communities in Norther Mongolia.
Some cool stuff we've done
Photography Workshop with Nick Danziger
In October 2018, Expat led a tour workshop with photo journalist Nick Danziger, spending 10 days on tour with a group of more than 10 people and the enigmatic photographer in Western Mongolia.
Paragliding Expedition 2016:
X Gobi Project
In 2016 we organised and led a Korean Paragliding Project to do XC across the Gobi Desert with Gin Gliders and pilots from Korea.
